Hosting, Monitoring & Intergration

Without a solid hosting solution, no e-commerce website can succeed. Novator’s hosting solution provides the rock-solid foundation required to meet today’s 24x7 demands. Novator does this through our quadruple-redundancy hosting environment. Every website we host has both a primary and backup hosting location; each location contains the primary machines your site runs on, and backup machines in case one of the primary pieces fails.
Our data centres are located in Toronto, Chicago, London, and Mumbai
Peering relationships with all major Internet backbones
High-capacity access to the Internet, operating at no more than 60% utilization
Redundant fibre connections from different vendors to each backbone
Security, power backup facilities, and 24x7 monitoring and system support

99.99% Uptime
Our solution includes self-monitoring of performance to ensure that your site is available and has a reasonable response time.
Hundreds of system and application features are monitored every second of the day:

Website: order statistics, order rate, conversion statistics, homepage download
Database: CPU availability, disk usage, blocked connections, pending transactions, transaction rate, number of connections, log size
Web servers: CPU, memory, network utilization, disk usage
Caching servers: hits, hit ration, response time
Other hardware: availability, connectivity
Intelligent systems automatically detect malfunctioning servers and databases and remove them from the mix.
Perimeter scans by ScanAlert
PCI compliance audit by Ambiron Trustwave
Database encryption

We developed Virtual Retailer with the understanding that retailers require integration with financial systems, security systems, fulfillment systems, inventory management systems, and customer care systems. Novator provides a full set of application programming interfaces (APIs) to enable real-time communication with your entire back-office infrastructure. VR also includes its own web-based fulfillment and customer service functionality.

The APIs allow for both real-time and batch data transfer. The data format is generally XML or CSV formatted files, but Novator can accommodate various requirements. The data is transferred over secure FTP, HTTPS, or through Virtual Retailer’s standard Web Services layer.
